On Saturday, June 24, 2023, the ZAQuant opened its doors to the interested public as part of the nationwide event “Day of Architecture.”
Normally strictly access-controlled, on this day, it was possible to get a glimpse into the heart of the quantum research centre, the large laboratory hall with its four high-precision measurement rooms. With maximum shielding against microseismic vibrations and low-frequency magnetic fields, the ten-metre-high laboratory boxes create a globally unique research environment.
Markus Hammes and project leader Jürgen Naverschnigg guided two groups totalling approximately 25 participants through the facility. They explained the concept and design idea, as well as the diverse challenges that arise when planning and constructing a prototype. We were delighted by the keen interest!
