NewsWell-rounded | Laboratory building in Lübeck

BAUKULTUR 4_2022

The current issue of the BAUKULTUR magazine features the Isotope Laboratory of the University of Lübeck on pages 14 and 15. The focus of the issue is on innovative façade solutions and the building envelope.

The entire building is enveloped in a uniform structure of semi-transparent industrial profile glass and is thus deliberately contrasting with the prefabricated architecture of the existing university buildings. The translucent effect of the material gives the building a sense of lightness, but also of depth – and generously supplies the rooms with daylight. The rounded corners make the building appear less austere and give the circulation layout a pleasant flow.
