Book review in TEC21

Under the heading Genau hingeschaut in the current issue of TEC21, you can read a review by Hella Schindel about our publication aufbrechen teilhaben weiterdenken, which was published by Birkhäuser Verlag in 2020.

The Stuttgart-based architectural firm hammeskrause architekten has made a name for itself with the design and implementation of numerous research and science buildings. With this publication, the architects prove that their understanding of architecture also includes mental manoeuvres and experiments.

This is not only evident in the book’s systematic structure of content, which uses ten keywords such as in-between space or appropriateness to explain the fundamentals of the architects’ design processes; its elaborate design, in which typography becomes object, paper becomes plane, photo becomes image, also epitomises an unconventional approach
