The research unit “Center of Brain, Behavior and Metabolism” (CBBM) at Lübeck University received a recognition in Berlin on 3 April, 2018.
The award is offered under the patronage of the German Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety. It is given every two years to university buildings of outstanding cultural quality, which are also proof of exemplary treatment of buildings with a historical fabric.
The research centre CBBM at Lübeck University unites three institutes under one roof. The jury praised the rigid exterior and the way this rigidity is dissolved inside, as well as the many variations of seating areas, promenades, presentation and discussion zones, which are chararcterised by love of architectural detail, and which promise to provide new meeting ground for the members of the respective science branches.
