Excursion with a nightcap

On the occasion of our monthly office talks, we were once again out and about in the city on Monday 27 February. Our team had the opportunity to visit the renowned John Cranko Ballet School in Stuttgart by Burger Rudacs. We started in the foyer on Urbansplatz with its characteristic elliptical ceiling opening. A very inspiring excursion!

Afterwards we had a nightcap at the APOTHEKE day bar on Eugensplatz to round off the evening. Many thanks to Jürgen for the great idea and organisation!

The new building originated from a competition in 2011, which the then little-known architects Burger Rudacs from Munich were able to win with their design, which cleverly responded to the hillside location.

A height difference of 21 metres with an extensive room programme of more than 13,000 square metres had to be brought into accordance. After all, in addition to the ballet academy and the associated boarding school, the building also accommodates the rehearsal stage of the Württemberg State Theatre, which is also designed for smaller performances with up to 200 spectators.
