The architects at hammeskrause architekten have broken new ground to design a cafeteria for two schools in Stuttgart’s Möhringen district. Together with the pupils, they have developed a colourful campus centre. Until then, the entire school area was characterised by the charm of the two 1960s architecture: functional buildings with lots of concrete and a flat roof. Once they had found the structural figure for the cafeteria, they involved the schoolchildren in the design. The school administration office, the building department and the school teachers at the schools supported the courageous and unusual approach.
